I grew up with two uncles who had served during WWII. One was a forward observer for an Artillery Unit and the other one participated during D-Day and fought at the Battle of Bulge. My grandfather (mother's dad) served in the Navy on a supply ship in the Pacific Theater of Operations. My dad served during the Korean War, he was stationed at Ft Sill in Oklahoma. One of my uncles I just found out in 2019 when he passed away that he had served on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. My other two uncles (brothers) served during the Vietnam War but they were stationed in California for the duration of the war. My dad’s first cousin, Hughland L. Moore, was killed in Germany during WWII. Hughland’s brother Earl C. Moore, served in the Navy as a gunner on maritime ships to ensure their safe passage across the sea.

The sacrifices made by these men are why I get so mad when people kneel during the playing of the National Anthem! You have the right to protest, that right was made by these very men here. Freedom is a very precious item, if you don’t believe me just go to some war-torn country in Africa or go to China and see if you have the same rights there as you do here.
